Careers
Document Control Coordinator
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada .
full-time . March 31, 2026
Description
At BR2, details matter. We’re looking for someone who can keep project documentation organized, accurate, and moving, because strong projects need more than good design. They need discipline behind the scenes.
This full-time, in-office role is critical to keeping project information flowing during active coordination and construction phases, while reducing administrative drag on technical staff. It also provides backup support to studio operations when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Receive, log, track, and distribute incoming and outgoing project documentation
- Maintain accurate records of drawings, submittals, RFIs, site instructions, meeting records, and other project documentation
- Ensure the correct versions of documents are issued internally and externally
- Maintain document control systems, naming conventions, and filing standards across active projects
- Monitor outstanding items, deadlines, and follow-ups related to project documentation
- Support document flow between the studio, clients, consultants, and contractors
- Prepare and issue documents in line with internal quality standards and project timelines
- Assist with project closeout and archiving
- Provide backup support to studio administration, including scheduling, formatting, printing, distribution, and general office coordination as needed
What We’re Looking For on Your Resume
- 3+ years of experience in document control, project coordination, project administration, or a similar role
- Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or design
- Experience with construction-phase documentation such as submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, consultant and contractor communication, and meeting records
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
- Experience working in shared file environments or document management systems
- Strong file organization, formatting, proofreading, and follow-through skills
- A track record of managing high volumes of documentation accurately in a deadline-driven environment
What We’ll Be Assessing in the Interview Process
We’ll be looking beyond whether you’ve done similar work before. We’ll want to understand how you work.
That includes:
- How you prioritize competing deadlines and document requests
- How you maintain accuracy and version control under pressure
- How you communicate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors
- How you manage follow-ups and outstanding items
- How you spot gaps, inconsistencies, or risks before they become bigger problems
- How you support a busy technical team without becoming the bottleneck
Who This Role Is For
This role is a fit for someone who:
- Likes structure, accuracy, and keeping things moving
- Notices details others miss
- Is calm under pressure
- Follows through without needing to be chased
- Can manage multiple priorities without losing control of the details
- Understands that strong project support is not “just admin”
Who Should Not Apply
This role is likely not a fit if you:
- Are looking for a front desk or general office administration role
- Have no experience working in a project-based technical environment
- Prefer work that is highly social and less detail-heavy
- Do your best work with loose structure and minimal follow-up
- Find version control, document tracking, and deadline management draining rather than satisfying
Why This Role Matters
This role protects billable time, supports project momentum, and helps the studio run with more consistency and less friction. When document control is done well, the entire team feels the difference.
